Cancerous cells are also called malignant cells. They grow and multiply out of control and may even spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body. This disease can be treated and cured, but sometimes it can re-occur & may come back again in the same patient. An 11years old school going innocent boy, hailing from West Bengal Master Sanchayan has been a victim of this. In September 2014, Sanchayan was diagnosed with cancer. After 7 ½ months treatment in Mumbai, he resumed back his normal school life after getting totally cured. He only had to undergo maintenance periodically. This year in January 2016, when his father brought him to Mumbai for follow-up, he was again diagnosed with the same disease Relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Testicular). This time doctors advised him Chemotherapy + Supportive care for 24 months & its cost is estimated to approx. Rs. 6 Lakhs. His father has a Pan shop in village that has been shut down since last two years, as he has to frequently come to Mumbai for his son's treatment. There is no other source of income to feed his family of 4 members & to incur this huge medical expenditure. Sanchayan's family has approached CARF for financial help. So, it's our plea to all you generous kind hearted people to help his innocent boy waiting & hoping to get well & go back to school.
