I am 27 year old who was diagnosed with T- Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, a type of blood cancer. As it all started in the year 2016, when I felt a swelling around my neck and I had regular cold, cough and fever. I visited my family doctor and he took X-ray but didn't find anything in the report. The swelling and fever was still continuous so I visited another doctor, he suggested doing Biopsy and Bone marrow test. The reports confirmed it's a blood cancer. During this time, I received lots of help from CARF who guided me and helped me financially and medically. I used to stay in Sangli, Then I came to Mumbai and got hospitalized in Tata memorial hospital on 17th of Feb, 16 chemo were given. I got completely cured in the month of October. For 2 years, I was on maintenance. Now l am totally cured yet I go for follow-ups once in 3-4 months. I am thankful to CARF for supporting me in my difficult time. Now I am completely free of medicines.

Cancer disease brings trauma for the patient and also their relatives. Such trauma came to my life when my sister was diagnosed with blood cancer. I am Mr.Sagar Jangam, few years ago my sister started feeling ill and she started having lumps all over her body. We got really scared and consulted our family doctor. He gave her medications, but she didn't find any change in the situation and the lumps started to pain irregularly. So the doctor removed one of the lumps and gave it to test. The reports showed it was cancer. We took her to Mumbai at Tata hospital and immediately got her hospitalized. Biopsy was done and it confirmed it is blood cancer. Doctors suggested 6 cycles of chemotherapy and few radiations. It was a traumatic experience for us mentally and also financially. During this period, we were suggested about a NGO named as CARF who can help us. So we approached CARF for help. From that moment till now we have always received help from CARF, they genuinely care about you. With CARF timely help my sister is doing well and last year she got married. I wish CARF all the very best for the good work they do for the needy cancer patients.

In the year 2016, I found a small lump on my breast but it had no pain so I ignored it. After few months I noticed the size of the lump started increasing so I consulted a homeopathic doctor and started with medicines. Two months into taking medicines there was no change in the situation and the lump started increasing and the pain was also unbearable. As a father of a 18 year old, I had dreams of educating my son so that he can lead a good life without poverty and troubles. This all came to a standstill when my son started facing pain in his neck. My Mother was suffering from Carcinoma of Bladder in the year 2014- 15. It was a shocking experience for us all in the family.
