“As a mother, I can say that motherhood is a journey that defies description. The journey of motherhood is not just about giving birth; it's about giving life in every sense of the word. From the moment I held my son Khemraj in my arms, I discovered the nuances of motherhood. I learnt to interpret his cries, anticipate his needs, and offer comfort with a soothing touch. With every milestone he achieved, I found my privilege to witness the wonder of life.
My heart aches as I say this, today I am in the midst of uncertainty and fear of losing my little one. Since last July’2022; Khemraj developed unusual symptoms like high fever, loss of appetite and weakness. Despite of undergoing the prescribed treatment, did not impact his health. Further as advised by our doctor, we underwent the blood tests, in which ruling out certain changes, MRI scan was done and a lymph node was detected inside his kidney. Thereafter the BMT test was done, and the diagnosis revealed that, Khemraj is battling a rare aggressive cancer - “Neuroblastoma Stage IV”.
We have already endured immense emotional and financial hardships to get through this difficult journey of his Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) surgery. According to the kind doctors, his only chance at survival now lies in Immunotherapy, a groundbreaking treatment that follows his BMT. The cost of this essential treatment is a hefty amount worth Rs. 10 lakhs approx.
As a concerned mother, I am determined to do everything in my power to give Khemraj the best chance at life, and I humbly seek your support to make this a reality. Your act of kindness will not only touch our hearts but also strengthen our belief in the inherent goodness of humanity.
